We offer Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy as a scientifically supported approach to help individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental needs. Our highly trained therapists use techniques based on learning principles to promote social, communication and daily living skills while reducing problem behaviors.
In-home therapy sessions are conducted directly in the individual’s home environment. Following a comprehensive behavioral assessment to tailor an individualized plan, our dedicated staff delivers one-on-one therapy focusing on communication, behavior management, self-help skills, and fostering independence.
Our team works closely with educators and school personnel to address the learning and behavioral needs of your child. We offer specialized behavioral support within the classroom environment, reinforcing essential skills like communication, social interaction, and behavior management through tailored interventions. Whether in individual or small-group settings, our collaborative approach ensures that your child receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Functional Communication Training (FCT) focuses on teaching alternative and socially appropriate ways to express themselves, reducing the reliance on challenging or maladaptive behaviors to communicate. It may involve the use of Augmentative systems of communication in non-verbal children.
Our Board-Certified Behavior Analysts conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify strengths, needs, and areas for improvement. These assessments may include functional behavior assessments that first aim to identify the function or purpose behind challenging behaviors. Skills assessments involve systematically evaluating the child’s current skill repertoire across different domains, such as communication, socialization, academic, self-care, and motor skills. These assessments help identify strengths and weaknesses, as well as areas requiring intervention or further development.
Adaptive behavior assessments focus on evaluating an individual's ability to function effectively in daily life across various environments and situations. These assessments assess an individual's capacity to perform age-appropriate activities and adapt to the demands of their environment. Based on the findings from these assessments, we develop personalized treatment plans that outline specific goals, objectives, and intervention strategies in accordance with your child needs and abilities. Our commitment lies in providing individualized care that empowers your child to reach their full potential.
Toilet training can present challenges for parents, but at Stepping Stones, we're here to support you every step of the way. We work closely with caregivers to establish a consistent toileting routine tailored to your child's needs. This includes implementing scheduled toilet sits, such as after meals or upon waking, providing regular reminders, and offering positive reinforcement for successful attempts.
We understand the difficulties you may face and are prepared to assist you in responding to accidents with compassion and without punishment or negative consequences.
Mealtime can often be challenging for children who are picky eaters and exhibit negative behaviors. At Stepping Stones, we conduct thorough functional evaluations to pinpoint the triggers and consequences that contribute to refusal behavior during meals. ABA treatment employs a comprehensive approach aimed at decreasing food aversion and increasing food intake. This involves a combination of individualized interventions designed to address the specific needs of each child.
Our team is committed to equipping your child with essential social behaviors and skills to promote successful interactions and relationships with others. Social Skills Training (SST) is a systematic evidence-based approach designed to address deficits in social competence.
Through SST, your child will learn a range of valuable skills, including the ability to recognize problems, generate potential solutions, assess consequences, and choose appropriate responses.
